Ancient Kaa the Soulless

From Diablo Wiki

Kaa and his Unraveler brethren.

Ancient Kaa the Soulless is a Super Unique Unraveler found in Tal Rasha's Tomb. He can be spawned in any one of the false tombs, and not necessarily next to the treasure trove. The tomb he is in is larger than a typical false tomb and if you see him, you are in the wrong tomb to fight Duriel.

Kaa is found in one of the false tombs at the very end of Act II. He is never in the true tomb, but is instead always in the one large false tomb. (The other 5 false tombs are much smaller.) There is no quest or special reward associated with Kaa, but he has achieved semi-legendary status in the game thanks to the sheer number of mods he can spawn with in Hell, and is sometimes sought by bold players, like a tourist attraction that can kill you.

His special abilities make him one of the more dangerous monsters.

[edit] Trivia

This section contains facts and trivia relevant to this article

  • From his nature of not appearing in Tal Rasha's real Tomb but in one of the other tombs in the Canyon of the Magi, where the mummified bodies of seven of the greatest Horadrim were buried, and the sheer number of special abilities he possesses, Kaa appears to be one of the seven who were originally buried there.
  • His name is derived from the Egyptian word ka, which means lifeforce. Kaa the Soulless is essentially a description of what he does with the undeads: the ancient lifeforce that controls the soulless.
