The Arreat Crater

The Arreat Crater is all that remains of Mount Arreat after the destruction of the Worldstone.

It was here that Azmodan and his armies made their way into Sanctuary, laying siege to Bastion's Keep. In-game[]

The crater appears in Act III of Diablo III. It is split into multiple zones:

Arreat Crater concept

Concepts existed for the crater as early as 2010.[3] From a development perspective, the crater was "100% organic," with elements such as skin and bone. The overall theme was demonic.[4]
