Bone Armor

Creates a protective shield of bone that absorbs damage from physical attacks.

Bone Armor is a Necromancer skill in Diablo II, and the only purely protective spell in their arsenal.


This spell summons a barrier created from the bones of fallen warriors. The armor revolves around the Necromancer, protecting him against all attacks. Although enchanted, the armor does take damage and will eventually crumble.

Bone Wall: +10% Life per level
Bone Prison: +8% Life per level

Bone Wall: +15 Damage absorbed from attacks
Bone Prison: +15 Damage absorbed from attacks

Bone Armor is a useful defensive skill, particularly early in the game. Daggermancers may benefit most from this skill as they have face melee damage as often as they fight ranged monsters, but any necromancer can benefit from the damage reduction.

Bone Armor can be extremely helpful in absorbing Physical Damage, preventing attacks from potentially killing users. The shield does not have a limit on how much damage it may absorb per attack, but the total amount of damage soaked per cast is limited.

Adding points into Bone Armor increases the armor's damage limit by 10 for each level, while adding core points into the synergies Bone Wall and Bone Prison increases the armor durability by 15. Putting one point in bone armor and more points in synergies is thus more efficient for making bone armor more durable. Additionally, adding to Bone Prison or Bone Wall would also increase Teeth, Bone Spear, and Bone Spirit damage, while adding to Bone Armor alone would only increase the life of Bone Walls and Prisons, and the Mana cost to cast the armor.
