Captain Rumford is a character in Diablo III. He is in charge of the militia defending New Tristram from the Risen. He leads the military force of new Tristram. At the start of Act 1, Chapter 8, Trailing The Coven, Captain Rumford will no longer be found in the center of town. Upon leaving New Tristram and heading towards the Old Ruins, he can be found lying dead at the bridge.

His ghost/soul will appear in Act IV but he turns into the monster 'aspect of sin'.
