The Character Screen is a special window, accessed in all three games by the C button. It serves as a table that shows most vital of the character's attributes and stats. These stats change in real-time, taking all temporary effects in account. Allocating attribute points after level-up is also done in the character screen.

Diablo IEdit

In Diablo I, the character screen is rather small and displays the following stats:

Attributes maxed out will be displayed in golden color.

Diablo IIEdit

The Character Screen from Diablo II

In Diablo II, this screen is further expanded. It no longer shows Gold (moved to inventory) and Chance to Hit is replaced with Attack Rating. The following attributes are added:

  • Energy (replaces Magic)
  • Damage of the currently selected skill (not just basic attack)
  • Stamina

Note that Movement Speed is not displayed in this screen. It also does not show Physical resistance and some other minor stats.

Defense and Attack Rating, when highlighted by a mouse, display the chances to hit and be hit against the last encountered enemy type.

Diablo IIIEdit

In Diablo III, the character screen is much more concise, but may be expanded to show all secondary stats. By default, it shows:

Character Details in Diablo III

Pressing the Details button will open a second menu that lists all primary and secondary stats of the character, grouped by category (offense, defense, life, adventure and resource). Some stats are only displayed if they are different from zero.

Buff BarEdit

Character screen in Diablo III also extends its functionality to the Buff Bar above the character's central skill panel interface and Life / resource Orbs. All temporary effects (including those applied by other players, allies and monsters) are displayed directly above it, beneficial buffs on the left side and harmful debuffs on the left side.

Any non-permanent buff that is part of a skill is displayed as a green decreasing bar above the skill icon. Similar buffs (such as multiple Shrines) on the panel stack into a single button that can be expanded by mouse cursor if needed.
