Catapult

Catapults are encountered as monsters in Act V of Diablo II.

Lore[]

Forged by the most powerful of Hell's smiths, catapults are demonic souls fused with iron. As a form of punishment for disloyal demons, the Prime Evils would capture demonic spirits and bind them to the very metal of the catapults. The demon would then be forced to live out the rest of its limited existence in this form.[1]

A number of catapults were utilized by the Army of Destruction on the slopes of Mount Arreat.[2]

In-game[]

Catapults launch random elemental globes, and can fire from as far away as three computer screens. Walking right up to a catapult and taking it out in person is advised. In close combat, Catapults are helpless, although will be likely guarded by other demons.

A Catapult can only fire in one direction: forward, having a very limited arc of fire. It is completely immobile and may not turn.
