The Tristram Militia is the town guard of New Tristram.
History[]
When the Fallen Star descended over Khanduras, the militia were summoned to the Tristram Cathedral by Leah. She explained that the dead were rising from the crypts. While the militia did well at first, the sheer number of undead overwhelmed them. Of the initial sixteen, only Rumford survived. With the death of Captain Daltyn, Rumford was made captain of the militia. Under his direction, the militia's remnants defended the gates of New Tristram against waves of undead.[1] For six days, the militia held the undead at bay. Morale sagged.[2]
The militia found salvation with the arrival of The Nephalem, who was able to stem the tide of Risen Dead by slaying the Wretched Mothers.[1] After the death of the Skeleton King, the attacks ceased, ending the week of conflict.[3] Recruits surged after this, the would-be militiamen apparently inspired by the deeds of The Nephalem.[4]
