"By the gods! It's fortunate that I have done some cleaning. I've heard that these roaches here are highly toxic! One bite and your arm's gone!"

Tomb Roach DIHB

Hidden Roaches

Roaches are insects found throughout Sanctuary, especially around tombs and other burial sites .

Lore[]

These voracious roaches fatten themselves on enchanted flesh. Any unfortunate who disturbs an infested tomb should keep one eye on cracks in the ground, lest they be buried in seconds.[1]

They have toxic bites. It is said that one bite is enough for one to lose an arm.[2]

In-game[]

Diablo Immortal[]

Tomb Roaches are encountered in the monsters in Diablo Immortal. They can be found in Ashwold Cemetery at the Outskirts; in Shassar Sea at the three tombs (Chamber of Sacrifice, Chamber of Truth, Chamber of Wisdom) and at Tomb of Fahir; in the Library of Zoltun Kulle in the Archive of Secrets; and on Mount Zavain at the Zakarum Graveyard.

They are fragile and attack in swarms of at least five.

Diablo III[]

Tomb Roaches are encountered in Act II of Diablo III, in Temple of the Firstborn. They are very similar to Scarabs in almost every regard.

Though fragile and weak, Tomb Roaches attack in dozens, encountering less than ten at once is rare. They effectively block the character's pathing and can tie them up for larger foes to come closer. They can also drop from the ceiling, but that will leave them briefly helpless as they try to get back on legs.

In battle, they deliver fast bites for average Physical damage.

Very often, there are bloated corpses around the Temple, each releasing a swarm of Tomb Roaches if approached or touched.

Wretched Hosts seem to be infested by particularly volatile Roaches: they can release a charged-up attack that marks several spots on the ground with green glow. After a few seconds, a swarm of glowing Tomb Roaches will erupt from the Host and explode at the marked areas, dealing heavy Poison damage.
