Fists of Fire is an Assassin Skill in Diablo II.

Combining her powerful Martial Arts abilities with her psychic training, an Assassin can charge her own fists with pyrokinetic energies, scorching her opponents when the charge is released.

This ability is a Charge-up Skill. If just one charge is released, it deals fire damage in a small radius. If two charges are released, it deals an explosion in a larger radius. Releasing three charges causes an explosion and a patch of flame, similar to Amazon's Immolation Arrow skill, except at close range.
Fists of Fire converts a portion of the user's physical damage into fire damage. The fire damage cannot exceed 100% of the physical damage. Against individual monsters with equal resistances in both types of damage, this skill is of little use. However, its area of effect potential makes it useful against groups of monsters.
Phoenix Strike's first charge outclasses it in terms of both damage and speed, so this skill generally isn't useful once that skill is learned. However, it is still valuable as it provides synergy bonus, and can perhaps occasionally find some use as it doesn't involve a delay before damage is applied.
Note that the radius calc is bugged in D2R (at least up to v2.7) since it is actually 2.6(6) yards and not 4. The value "4" from par1 is given in game units, which are assumed to be 2/3 yard each, but is not recalculated in SkillDesc.txt after strings were rewritten for D2R. Surprisingly, Blades of Ice had the value recalculated properly as par1*2/3 using desc func 36 in D2R.
