The Malevolent Tormentor is a variant of the Treasure Goblin in Diablo III, introduced patch 2.1.2.

They always drop Legendary Items when killed, typically more than one, amount of guaranteed items scaling with difficulty. Visually, they look like normal Treasure Goblins. On consoles, they have a title of Spiteful Sprites.

As a possible reference to their name, these Goblins can teleport at will, making catching them especially challenging, even more that when surrounded with other monsters.
