It is notable in that its base attack speed is only matched by a few other weapons, but it does have a high dexterity requirement as well. It also has no durability (is Indestructible, but does not say so on the tooltip), and cannot be ethereal upon dropping (though upgraded rare and unique Crystal Swords and Dimensional Blades can be ethereal). For this reason it is popular with certain Rune Words due to its speed.
Though its Strength requirement is very low for an Elite weapon, players may not see much advantage in it, due to the rest of their equipment, which is usually many times more restricting from such a requirement.
A Phase Blade with 4 sockets is very commonly used for the Passion Rune Word. Many Enchantresses find this as the backbone of their damage output.
Phase Blades are commonly found in The Secret Cow Level.
