Reyes was a crewmember of a ship commanded by Captain Hanso. He lived during some point after the Mage Clan Wars.
On what would be Reyes's last voyage, the ship he was on set sail from Kingsport set sail on a mining expedition. During the trip, it was caught in a storm, and after being battered and tossed for three days, a tidal wave carried it inland into the deserts of Kehjistan. Reyes related these events to First Mate McMahon, who had been below decks at the time.
Hanso disappeared into the desert and soon, the crew began to claim that there was some kind of monster stalking them. It was a fear that turned out to be well founded, and while the crew lay sleeping, the monsters came into the ship and slaughtered them, Reyes presumably included.[1]
