Rite of Passage (quest)
From Diablo Wiki
Go to Arreat Summit and use the altar to activate the Ancients. When each of them is defeated, they turn into a golden statue. Opening a Town Portal would reset the Ancients, as will leaving the zone, so be prepared for a fight each time. The Worldstone Keep will be open to you after all three was defeated.
[edit] Fighting the Ancients
When the player first goes to Arreat Summit, He should not activate the altar right away. Instead, he needs to open a town portal, go back to Harrogath, buy plenty of healing and mana potions and go back to Arreat Summit via town portal. Once he is back to the Harrogath, he needs to drop all potions in this area, but not all in one place, drop it around the statue of the Ancients instead. This process should be repeated few times until player have enough potions to deal with the Ancients. Since players must not return to Harrogath once the Ancients are awaken (or he will be forced to fight them again with their health full if he goes back to Harrogath and return to Arreat Summit) this strategy will be very useful. If player is missing potions, he can just pick up ones he has dropped. Your Main focus should be Madawc the Guardian (axe throwing guardian) since he is the only ranged attacker and it seems that he is capable of stunning hero for a split of second, long enough for his other two friends to do fatal blows. Talic the Defender and Korlic the Protector are good at hand-to-hand combat, so they should be avoided until Madawc killed. Once Madawc hits the floor, focus on Korlic the Protector (axe leaping guardian). He will rarely hit, but once he hits he knows to deal great amounts of damage, so players should watch out for him and focus their attack immediately after Madawc is dealt with. After two Ancients have fallen, Talic the Defender should not be a problem to deal with. Note that if you happen to leave before all three are killed, their resistances could change. At times they could have immunities to certain elements. If you feel as though the odds are against you, leave and return. They usually change after you come back. The also can be enchanted or have a mana burn ability. This can also change if you leave.
