"To me, it’s about power and seeing your character develop over time. To struggle through a portion of the game and then go back and find it’s trivial; playing on higher and higher difficulties and watching them get easier. Besides power, there’s loot."— Foote on the appeal of the Diablo series to him(src)
Foote joined Blizzard Entertainment in 2001, serving as a playtester for Diablo II on the 1.04 patch. He later worked on Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and then World of Warcraft, before moving on to Diablo III. He also worked on Reaper of Souls.
- In Diablo I, his favorite item was Godly Plate of the Whale. In Diablo II, it was the Stone of Jordan. In Diablo III, he spent a large amount of time looking for Lut Socks.
- In his view, The Butcher is the most difficult boss in the series.
- In Diablo II, the Barbarian was his favorite class. In Diablo III, he has played as the Barbarian and Witch Doctor.
- He has cited the launch of Reaper of Souls as his favorite moment in development, due to the positive reception it received. The second is the launch of Lord of Destruction, as it was the first time he received a credit while working in the games industry (listed in the game's manual).
