The Seven Tombs (quest)
From Diablo Wiki
The Seven Tombs is the sixth and final quest of Act II. It is initiated by talking to Jerhyn after either completing Radament's Lair, The Horadric Staff or Tainted Sun quests or after your character reaches level 20. The quest is completed after you have defeated the demon Duriel and have spoken to the Archangel Tyrael.
[edit] Background
Jerhyn and Drognan have concluded that the Dark Wanderer that passed through Lut Gholein was Diablo himself. Diablo set out to free his brother Baal, who was imprisoned within Tal Rasha's Tomb centuries ago. Tal Rasha's Tomb lies hidden deep within the desert amongst six other tombs. It is your mission to find the True Tomb, gain entrance to Tal Rasha's Chamber, and destroy Baal before Diablo manages to free him. However, finding the Tomb is not a simple task.
[edit] Further information and tips
This quest is more or less embedded within the other quests. First, you have to create a Horadric Staff in order to gain entrance to Tal Rasha's Chamber in The Horadric Staff quest. Then you have to find Tal Rasha's Tomb by searching the Arcane Sanctuary for clues in the Arcane Sanctuary quest. Once you've read Horazon's Journal, the glyph of the True Tomb will be recorded in your quest log.
In the Canyon of the Magi, you must find the Tomb that bears that same glyph. Note that the True Tomb is considerably larger then the false Tombs. It might be worthwhile to explore the false Tombs though, since there are plenty of monsters and golden chests waiting inside.
Once in the True Tomb, fight your way through the tough monsters, such as Unravelers, Burning Dead, and Ghoul Lords, and the Super Unique monster named Ancient Kaa the Soulless (who does not necessarily spawn in the True Tomb). Like other tombs, the True Tomb entrance leads to three pathways. You will know that you are on the pathway leading to Tal Rasha if the pathway became a complicated series of chambers that diverge and then converge, rather than a simple path. Eventually, you will come to a circular formation on the ground with an Orifice in the center. Click on the Orifice and place the Horadric Staff into the slot of the special window that pops up. After an impressive visual display, a passage opens up in the wall, which leads to Tal Rasha's Chamber. This is where you'll fight Duriel.
Note: It is recommended that you use a Town Portal, before entering the Chamber, in order to stock up on Healing Potions and Thawing Potions in preparation for the tough battle. The Chamber has no exit, so as soon as you enter, open another Town Portal so you can easily return if you die, which is quite likely on your first attempt. After defeating Duriel, explore the Chamber and find Tyrael. After listening to Tyrael, a portal to Lut Gholein opens. Take the portal and speak to Jerhyn who informs you that Meshif will take you east to Kurast, where you will begin Act III.
