Shirotachi is a Unique Sword found in the Diablo: Hellfire expansion. It deals Lightning Damage and has the fastest level of attack speed. Furthermore, it has a devastatingly powerful armor penetration ability that reduces an enemy's armor class (AC) by 50%.
As a result this sword is the best unique melee weapon for harder difficulty levels, such as Nightmare & Hell, where monster AC is extremely high↑.
↑- Ingame, there is a bug in Hellfire that would challenge Shirotachi's usefulness for all of Hell Difficulty. The bug in question makes it so that enemies in late Hell Difficulty have zero Armor Class, negating the need for piercing.

- The image of the sword depicts that of a katana, a traditionally made Japanese sword which was wielded by the samurai warriors of ancient and feudal Japan. "Shirotachi" (白太刀) means "white sword" and refers to a blade where all fittings such as a handle and a sheath are made of silver.
