The Sky Splitter is a Legendary axe in Diablo III. It requires character level 60 to drop.
The Smite effect of the unique affix (which is subject to Proc Coefficient) is not the Crusader skill of the same name: it calls a single lightning bolt on the target, dealing 600-750% damage as Lightning and Stuning the target for 0.5 seconds, with a small internal cooldown. It is also one of the two weapons (along with The Horadric Hamburger) with a bonus to Life Regeneration.
In version 2.1, this item did not appear in the Game Guide, but still dropped in game. As of 2.2 it is back in the Game Guide.
