The Solar Creeper is in essence identical to the Carrion Vine, save for the fact that it recycles corpses for Mana instead of Life. It is also much tougher than the Carrion Vine, having 165 Health Points at Level 1.
The usefulness of the Creeper is situational, based on the Druid build the player is using. If they are prone to using a great deal of the Elemental Skills, then the Creeper will help to take the sting out of their constantly-disappearing Mana pool. The amount of mana given by the Creeper is a percentage of the total Mana possessed by the dead creatures (not the Druid!) it absorbs. At Level 1, the vine returns a meager 2% of the corpse's total mana.
The Creeper has a secondary effect that makes it valuable for PvP combat: Corpse Denial. Keeping dead bodies away from the enemy prevents them from being Revived, Exploded, or assimilated by enemy Carrion Vines/Solar Creepers. By the same token, this can be a detriment to Druids working with a Necromancer, particularly ones using Skeletons, Skeletal Mages, Corpse Explosion, or Poison Explosion.
This skill conjures forth an intelligent plant that draws the enemy's dead deep into the earth, where it drains their spiritual essences and bestows them upon the Druid who summoned it.
