Steeldriver is a unique Great Maul.
Besides its high damage, its boost to attack speed may help to counteract the very slow attack speed of a Great Maul.
Steeldriver has a high enhanced damage modifier (up to 250%), something not often seen on Normal grade uniques. When upgraded via the Horadric Cube, this weapon becomes quite formidable with a level requirement of 34 and only 85 strength needed. It is sometimes even feasible to upgrade it all the way to elite, and socket (using Larzuk's quest reward) it with a Shael, or an Enhanced Damage/Increased Attack Speed Jewel, for even more speed.
