- "Your strength rivals that of our greatest champions. What now do you think you are?"
—Alaric to the nephalem[1]
"The Nephalem" is a nephalem hero active during the End of Days.
Biography
The End of Days
Aftermath
After the defeat of Diablo, the Nephalem entered Westmarch to search for Adria.[2]
Reaper of Souls
The Nephalem defeated Malthael. However, Tyrael feared that one day the Nephalem would be tempted into corruption, and whether the Nephalem could resist.[3]
In-game
The Nephalem is representative of the player character(s) of Diablo III (though storywise, only one Nephalem hero is active during the game).[2][4] ("The) Nephalem" is often used to address the player character, as per game mechanics and bypassing gender, name, class and number of players. While certain characters exist (see below) to represent the playable classes of the game, none have been confirmed to be the canonical Nephalem hero. As such, the article represents the Nephalem player character, the specifics of which are up to a player.
The following characters exist so far, each of them can be (to some extent) the canonical choice for their class:
- Li-Ming (female Wizard, short story)
- Valla (female Demon Hunter, short story / Heroes of the Storm)
- Anajinn (female Crusader, short story)
- Sonya (female Barbarian, Heroes of the Storm)
- Nazeebo (male Witch Doctor, Heroes of the Storm)
There has been no named character of Monk class so far, but the class trailer featured a male Monk.
