For other uses, see The Oculus.

The Oculus is a unique Swirling Crystal, exclusively used by Sorceresses. It is the only unique orb available in Patch 1.09. With a large boost to all Sorceress skills, resistances, cast rate, Energy, and Magic Find, the Oculus is ideal for all-around Sorceress use.

Some players decide not to use The Oculus, simply because of the chance to teleport. It is slightly annoying to be teleporting around when you don't want to. However, others find it to be a life saver.

In any case, the Oculus should be upgraded to a better weapon when the Sorceress reaches a higher level. Death's Fathom is often used by Sorceresses focusing on Cold Spells, and the Heart of the Oak is often used by Sorceresses focusing on Fire Spells or Lightning Spells. Even Tal Rasha's Lidless Eye when combined with the rest of the Tal Rasha's Wrappings set is a very strong, viable option late-game - one of the few class sets in the game that is worth using.

Eschuta's Temper looks like a solid choice on the surface, but since it's damage bonuses only stack with the elemental Masteries and do not increase the Sorceress's overall damage, it is a poor late-game option.
