Wake of Fire places a trap in a chosen area that shoots waves of fire when triggered. Due to its high speed, good number of shoots and wide coverage, this trap can still be very effective well past Normal. However, due to its relatively low synergies and innate damage, as well as the higher amount of fire immune and resistant monsters in later difficulties, the efficiency of this skill is not as high in the very later stages of Nightmare and most of Hell.

Due to the relative low damage of the spell, dropping many of these traps at once is helpful for dealing more damage. This ability is also much more effective in dungeons, as the cramped corridors and rooms lets the waves hit many more targets than normal.

The waves are not radial, but instead are fired in cone-shaped bursts, like Baal's cold waves.
