Once an Assassin throws it to the ground, this trap expels a large spout of fire at any opponent who moves within its range.

Although the synergy description provides invalid "0.5 Yards per level" both in D2LoD and D2R up to at least version v2.7, actual increase is 1/3 yard/level, and can be verified by looking at the "range" value shown in skill. This is a result of the formula for range being ln34/2 + skill('Wake of Fire Sentry'.blvl) , where par3 = 40, par4 = 0, and the divisor is /3 (units/yard). This gives simply ( 20 + skill('Wake of Fire Sentry'.blvl) ) / 3 yards, i.e. 6.6(6) yards + 1/3 yard per WoF level.

This skill is the fire-based cousin of the Lightning Sentry. It fires the Sorceress skill of the same name at enemies. It has lower range, but deals higher damage than Wake of Fire. It is useful in very small rooms or in a big crowd, where an enemy can receive the full channeled duration.
